About Us
The Enlightenment Institute is an educational institution originally established in 2008 to help students acquire language through technology that mirrors how every baby begins to use language. In 2010, founder and director Stuart Alan Becker joined The Phnom Penh Post where he served as Special Reports Editor and later Group Business Development Officer until July of 2010.
Range of Services
The Enlightenment Institute performs a range of services including English language acquisition using some of the world's best training systems, specialized trainings for companies in dealing with media, events aimed at helping Cambodian young people realize their dreams and specialized publications.
Our Inspiration
Taking our inspiration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which was listed in 2012 by US News & World Report as the best university in the world, we base our approach on time-tested moral philosophy and academic excellence.
Goals
The Enlightenment Institute has three main principles:
- An informal atmosphere without uniforms or rigid hierarchies
- A focus on the students, their desires and goals (not on the administration)
- A focus on excellence; rigorous achievement and the ability to articulate complex ideas.
Philosophy & Influence of Chomsky
At the core of The Enlightenment Institute's philosophy is the work of Professor Noam Chomsky, Professor Emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
